Shetland, which were once owned by Norway, offer the visitor a wonderful blend of history, scenery and community.  Join us as we explore the agricultural economy with stunning landscapes, excellent farming and a warm welcome on offer.  We'll visit beef, dairy and sheep operations, learn about the Shetland Wool renaissance, the strength of the fishing industry and hear about the development of green energy to offset the declining oil industry. 

Crofting continues to offer an important alternative income stream either through fishing or land based farming and we will explore its history and its current value. 

An exciting and wonderful geography combined with hospitality make Shetland a very appealing destination.  There is also the outside chance of seeing the Northern Lights.
